1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG)
No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.
The temptation to sin (do wrong things) has been around ever since the days of Adam and Eve. You remember. The devil tempted Adam and Eve to go against God’s commandment to stay away from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17).
Everybody has given into temptation and committed sin (Romans 3:23). Yes. Even preachers and ministers. Don’t believe someone when they tell you they have never sinned (1 John 9:10) because they aren’t even being honest with themselves.
God is waiting to help you through those temptations if you want Him to.
When temptation comes, the first thing you should do is know there is someone who has experienced the same temptation who either resisted or didn’t resist. So these people, who have given their lives to Christ can talk to you about those temptations and strange feeling you’re having. If you read the verse again, you’ll find that God is waiting to help you through those temptations if you want Him to. He has already given you a way out, a way to escape the temptation to sin.
