God’s Intention For Sex

Genesis  1:28 – Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Sex isn’t a Sin or dirty. Sex is ordained by God. The only way we can “be fruitful and multiply” is through a husband and wife being intimate with each other, sexually. So understand that sex is ordained by God as long as it is done the way He intended it. If sex is performed between a man and woman and they aren’t married, it is a sin and it’s called fornication.

Sex between unmarried men and women is called fornication.

Hebrews 13:4 – Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. See God has made marriage between a man and a woman honorable. He honors marriages and He intends marriage to be permanent.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 – For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality.

Run from fornication! God is so serious about protecting us from the consequences of fornication that He is saying; “FLEE” from it. If a building is on fire, we don’t casually walk toward the exit, we get there in a hurry. If we see a speeding vehicle coming our way when we cross the street we get to the curb in a hurry. When the temptation comes to commit fornication one should get away from it as quickly as you can!

  • 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:18 – Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

If the Bible’s message on abstaining from sex until married were upheld, there would be far fewer sexually transmitted diseases, far fewer abortions, far fewer unwanted pregnancies and unwed mothers, and far few children growing up without both parents in their lives. Abstinence saves lives, protects babies, gives sexual relations the proper value and, most importantly, honors God.

Television programs, and even commercials, and other forms of media encourage fornication. We see immoral sex being pushed as okay to do. But God has already said it isn’t and there’s nobody or anything that make what God says is wrong okay to do. And He has good reasons why He doesn’t want this free-will sex in His creation.
